If you live in Easton, you already know the summer calendar looks scattered on paper. Farmers' Market on Saturday. Heritage Day. Live at the Falls on Thursdays. A new restaurant every few weeks. The list reads like errands, not a routine.
Look at a map instead. Almost everything worth showing up for this year sits on a two-block spine that runs from Centre Square east along Northampton Street to Scott Park at the confluence. In 2026 that spine got measurably denser, and the practical effect is that a resident's Saturday and Thursday now stitch together without a car.
The Spine, Made Denser In 2026
Three separate 2026 openings all landed inside a five-minute walk of one another. That is the story the top search results are missing.

The Marquis piece is the one that changes the shape of the block. The seven-story, $70 million building occupies the block between Pine and Ferry streets, replacing the aging Pine Street Garage on South 3rd Street. Before this year, that stretch of 3rd had a parking deck on it. Now it has 264 apartments and a café, a Mexican counter, and a bar sharing a wall. Amigos is a fast-casual Mexican restaurant with a Downtown Allentown location, ZEN is a new bar and lounge concept from the Amigos owners, and The Joint Coffee Co. is a café.
The ZEN detail matters if you actually use the block. A door leads directly from ZEN into Amigos, so the two-room hop that Downtown Allentown residents already understand now exists in Easton too. Pair that with Joint Coffee opening at 7 a.m. next door and you have a single ground floor that functions differently at 8 a.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m.
Rios is the second shift. The restaurant is moving from its 17-year-old spot in Nazareth to a larger space at 64 Centre Square, so a familiar Northampton County name is now sitting on the square rather than 12 miles up Route 191. If you have been driving to Nazareth for a birthday dinner, you no longer have to.
The Saturday Anchor Moved Four Blocks, Twice
The Easton Farmers' Market has been in Centre Square since it opened in 1752. It no longer meets there. Since 2011 the regular Saturday operation has run out of Scott Park on the riverfront, and knowing when it drifts back to the square is the practical piece.
Regular season is Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., May through December, at Scott Park on Larry Holmes Drive. The exception residents should mark: on July 11, 2026, the market takes place in Centre Square as part of Easton Heritage Day. That is the one Saturday all year when the market and the square close back into one location, and it is also a free, full-day festival showcasing local and regional history with reenactment events, recreational activities, and musical performances, capped by fireworks launched from the Forks of the Delaware at 9:30 PM.
The rest of the summer, the market keeps its own calendar of themed Saturdays. Block these:
- August 1: Peach Day. Fresh picked white, yellow, and donut peaches, plus prepared goods.
- August 15: Tomato Day. A summer celebration for stocking up on the juiciest tomatoes and pairings.
- September 5: Funky Ferments Fest. Labor Day weekend at Scott Park.
- September 26: Hot Pepper Showdown. Hot peppers locally grown by Easton Garden Works grower Mark Reid; contest limited to 20 participants, preregistration recommended.
- October 17: Apple Jam. Apple pie, caramel apples, apple strudel, dumplings, cider donuts, farm-pressed cider, hard cider, savory apple sausage, plus a tasting through a bushel of locally grown apple varieties.
One footnote for planning purposes: the regular Scott Park market runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with December hours 10 a.m. to noon, and there is no market on October 3, November 7, or November 28. October 3 is Garlic Fest and it hosts elsewhere.
What Thursday Night Became
Thursday is the underused evening in downtown Easton, and 2026 quietly filled it.
Live at the Falls runs every Thursday June through August, 6 to 8:30 P.M., with free parking, on N. 2nd Street next to Bachmann Publick House. That is the concert half. The market half moved this year. The West Ward Market spent a decade in a Saturday-morning slot; it now runs Thursdays 5 to 8 PM at the 10th & Pine Community Garden, 923 Pine St. The market is explicitly designed to address food access in the neighborhood and to function as a social gathering space connecting people around local food.
Put those two together and Thursday evening is now a real thing: buy from the West Ward Market between 5 and 8, walk down to 2nd Street for the concert. Neither event stands alone the way Saturday's market does, but paired they cover a full evening without a car.
A Resident's Thursday-Into-Saturday, Compressed
The reason to think of this as a spine and not a list is that it lets you plan a compact 48 hours without leaving downtown. One version, for a resident with out-of-town guests:
- Thursday, 5:00 PM — West Ward Market at 10th and Pine for produce and dinner ingredients.
- Thursday, 6:00 PM — Live at the Falls on N. 2nd. Bring a chair.
- Thursday, 9:00 PM — Nightcap at ZEN. The owners describe it as a comfy cocktail bar with plants, dim lighting, and DJs on the weekends playing deep house.
- Friday, 7:00 AM — Coffee at Joint Coffee Co. on 3rd and Ferry.
- Friday, evening — Rooftop dinner at Thyme Rooftop Grille, atop the 7th floor of The Commodore building, with views of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers, College Hill, and downtown, led by executive chef Steven Schwier. Or Rios at 64 Centre Square if the group wants the churrascaria.
- Saturday, 9:00 AM — Farmers' Market at Scott Park. Free supervised bike parking is available at the foot bridge.
- Saturday, 11:30 AM — Lunch at Easton Public Market. Bincho-Don is the new one to try, alongside Modern Crumb Bakeshop, Mister Lee's Noodles, Highmark Farmstand, and Tortuga Club.
Everything above happens inside roughly a fifteen-minute walking radius.
One Honest Caveat For Heritage Day
If you already live downtown, the July 11 Heritage Day reroute is the one weekend where the spine works against you. Centre Square closes, the market comes back to the square rather than Scott Park, and the fireworks launch from downtown at the Forks of the Delaware. Park early or plan to be on foot the entire day. This is also the Saturday to invite the guests who have never seen Easton, because it is the only one where the 1752 market and the 2026 downtown occupy the same block at the same time.
The two-block spine is the reason Easton feels compact even as the population of downtown apartments climbs. Everything the calendar promises this summer happens between Centre Square and Scott Park, and 2026 is the year the walk between them stopped having any dead space in it.
